Adobe Lightroom
Since its release in 2007, Adobe Lightroom (along with the comparable Mac-only Aperture) has become the dominant image processing software. The combination of powerful analysis/compare tools, cataloging database, organizational flexibility, raw converter/editor, search tools, integration with Photoshop, and real photographic-based editing tools make it a logical choice for both amateurs and professionals.
Lightroom has been the most-requested workshop addition from Shooting the West participants for the past two to three years. True to STW principles, we wanted to make sure we provided a superb class at good value — now we’re ready!
This is a two-day, hands-on workshop — participants must attend both days. It will be a very thorough and detailed examination of the software and related techniques. Enrollment will be limited to fifteen students. We believe that this limit is essential for computer-based hands-on classes. Classes that claim to be hands-on and have a teacher-student ratio of 1:30 are usually a very poor value!
Students must provide their own laptop computer and be familiar with the basics of the operating system, either Windows or Mac. Knowledge of Lightroom in not required, and students will be able to download a trial version of the software.
